Allotments in Bedford
There are currently around 300 allotment plots administered by the Borough Council, located on three sites.
The sites are situated at:
· Allen Park, off Old Ford End Road
· Goldington Field, off Barkers Lane
· Newnham Avenue.
All sites have water supplies, security fencing and access via keys.
The cost of renting a plot from April 2011 is £46.20 (full plot) per year, with a reduction for senior citizens, and if you are unemployed (£27.20).
Some smaller plots are available on those who might be put off by a full size plot.

Hello
Just wondering who I have to contact for the allotments on the corner of Castle Road and Albany Road. If someone can help me out, I would be very grateful.
Hi, can you let me know who I would need to get in touch about an allotment at Haynes Field off of Barkers Lane. Thanks
Queens Park Allotment Association is located off the Bromham Road – access via Winifred Road and Chestnut Avenue. We have 113 10 Pole plots and vacant sites. It is a private allotment and not run by the Council but the plots are £20 per year plus £1 membership fee. We are a thriving community and have been on this site since 1904. If you are keen to try your hand at growing veg we’d like to hear from you. Contact Sheila on 353522 or email me, Louise.
I am interested in a vacant plot on the queens park allotment and am happy to join. My number 261778 would love you to contact me.
Have you any allotments available at Mile Road Bedford. We would prefer a half patch but would accept a full one if necessary.

in Balliol Road kempston
thanks
Hi Rob, Have you contacted Balliol allotments direct? The number can be found here
hi Rob
There is no communal area to house tools etc but you can purchase a shed and put it on your own plot. There are plots available now at Mile Road.
Hello there,
I am looking to help my mother set up an allotment on the Mile Road site.
I am wondering if there are any sheds on the site to house allotment tools etc. And is there electricity anywhere so we can organise a cup of tea after working there.
It would be great if someone has the answers to my questions!
best wishes,
Rob Harding
